About Me:

My name is Laura. I am a Christian wife and mother who loves the Lord with all her heart, and thanks him daily for the many blessings he has given me. Before our decision to homeschool, I worked as a Sign Language Interpreter/Teaching Assistant in Special Education in our public school system for 11 years. I loved my job there, but I love being a wife and mother MUCH MORE!!!! My husband David and I have 3 BEAUTIFUL children on loan from God. We have lived in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley since 1989 where everyday we are amazed at the AWESOME wonder of this beautiful world that God has created for all of us! This is our second year home-schooling our son with Asperger's Syndrome. Everyday brings different challenges as well as many wonderful accomplishments.
I love to strip quilt, read, garden, cook/bake, and make my own laundry detergent and fabric softener, as well as other homemade items. I am trying to find some way to be able to do the things I love and earn an income from home at the same time. I know this will be a goal that I WILL be able to accomplish, as long as I keep my trust and focus on God!
