Mother of two girls. Erin is 23 and in college. Elisa is 21 and has autism.Married to my wonderful husband for 26 years. Loving the Lord more every day.

From my heart!

Dear Friends, As the move date gets closer we are seeing an increase of anxiety in Elisa and that brings on some not so good behaviors. We are also seeing a few new behaviors crop up. Last weekend was a diffucult visit to the house. We are planning another one this Saturday--Erin will be coming home from college this weekend to help with the house. My anxiety is up also as I prepare for her moving. My way of life will be changing completely. We will have neither girls home any more. Autism has been my life for over 21 years and now I must adjust to a new way of life. I guess I need to find who I am as a person. I need prayer as I have health issues to deal with. Mike and I both put things on hold for a long time and now we are beginning to deal with them. I have been told to look for small blessings from God. Today Elisa and I along with her staff went out and played in the snow. We were laughing so much. I got to tell you I have not had that much fun with her in a long time. Making memories that will last me a lifetime. Mike and I saw what looked like glitter falling from Heaven last night it was so beautiful and it reminded me of how beautiful God's creation is. A New Journey

When Elisa moved out we knew our lives would be different but we never counted on me getting sick.
We had a plan that I would rest for a month and then I woulld try to find a job. Shortly after Elisa move I started to noticed that I was in a lot of pain. How many of you have heard people say this about families who have a special needs child?
I do not see why they do not put them in an institution? Or you hear parents say they have tried to get help but they could not get it? If you have you are not alone.

Isolation I have been thinking a lot about why we chose to isolate and what the outcome of doing it was. I am so glad that God is in control of everything in our lives. He knows the beginning.middle and the end. I am so thankful that He does not allowed us to see our future.
